CUC sets two power outages tomorrow

The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. has scheduled a power interruption on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, from 8:30am to 12:30pm to replace a rotting power line on Dandan road directly in front of the Dandan Elementary School.

Another crew will replace a rotted power pole in the upper Dandan Homestead area near Gatbo Ave. Water services may be effected in the area during the power interruption; however, all services should be restored after the powers is re-energized.

Areas affected include Kiya 1 (2nd partial) from the former San Vicente Round House south on Dandan Road to the Flame Tree Road intersection and east toward the Hawaiian Rock Quarry to the Obyan areas.

Later that same day, there will be a power interruption from 3:30pm to 4:15pm. The purpose of the interruption is to de-energize the primary lines to allow the CUC line crew to safely perform system maintenance by replacing deteriorated pole hardware on As Perdido near Dabao Tire Shop.

Another crew will connect a recently replaced air break switch on Chalan Msgr. Martinez Rd. near the Dandan Shell Gas Station. The new switch will provide the line crew the added ability to isolate problematic areas of the electrical distribution circuit and minimize inconvenience to customers. Water services may be effected in the area during the power interruption; however, all services should be restored after the powers is re-energized.

Areas affected are Kiya 2 (first partial) Chalan Msgr., Martinez Rd. from former Movie Station south to Koblerville Mobil gas station to include Tottoville, Guangdong Hardware, Chalan Tun Thomas P. Sablan Rd., San Antonio area, Aplok Dr., Bayak Dr., Faha PI., Chalan Tun Joaquin Doi, partial of Chalan Kanoa (Casilda St. south to Doctor Torres Dr.) and to include William S. Reyes Elementary School. Chalan Piao traffic light, and CUC Aguigan Treatment Plant, including the As Lito water wells, will be affected.

Because of the scale of the work that will be performed, travelers are asked to take alternate routes or to exercise caution when driving through the affected areas. (CUC)
