Grace Christian Academy's Lady Eagles and the Lady Knights of Mount Carmel School remained unbeaten in the 2012-2013 Marianas Interscholastic Sports Organization Girls Volleyball League.
The Lady Eagles held strong against the Marianas Baptist Academy Stormz, 25-12, 25-11, 15-11, in last Tuesday's pairing at the Marianas High School Gymnasium, and then outlasted the MHS Blue Dolphins, 25-15, 25-11, 15-9, last Thursday to notch back-to-back wins before the week ended.
The Lady Knights also gained twin wins on the same day, as they prevailed over MBA and Saipan International School's White Geckos last Thursday. Mt. Carmel downed SIS White in two sets, 25-20, 25-12, before the latter avoided a shutout in the end, 15-11. The Lady Knights then held off MBA in three sets, 25-15, 25-21, 15-6.
In other results last Tuesday, SIS Green Geckos defeated sister-squad SIS White in a back and forth match 27-25, 13-25, 15-9. SIS White then finally sniffed out a victory last Thursday against the MHS Yellow Dolphins, 25-9, 25-11,15-5.
In addition, MBA also broke into the win column after sweeping Kagman High School, 25-15, 25-15, 15-8, last Thursday. The Lady Ayuyus were later gifted a forfeit victory over a shorthanded SSHS crew also last Thursday.
The third round of the MISO volleyball league continues tomorrow with MHS Blue colliding against SIS Green on the north court and GCA taking on MHS Yellow on the south end at 4pm. Then at 5pm SIS White squares off against SSHS and KHS challenges MCS on the north square, while MBA faces MHS Blue and KHS meets SIS White on the south side at 6pm.
