Pacific Islands Club Saipan will be hosting the 2013 Duck Race for Cancer on Feb. 9.
PIC staff will be out selling ducks to the community to try and raise funds for this worthy cause. In addition to this year's annual duck race set at 6:30pm, PIC will also have the Corporate Duck Race to this year's event. Dozens of companies are invited to participate, but only the first 24 to confirm will be granted slots into the PIC Race Around The River.
The PIC Race Around The River will be held right before the Duck Race for Cancer. Four heats with six participants each will wear yellow swim caps, lifejackets, and swim fins (all provided by PIC) and make their way around the 800m lazy river with their very own inflatable duck (also provided by PIC). The Top 2 participants from each heat will be granted slots into the finals. The top finisher in the finals will win a team building night of Laser Tag at PIC's Laser Tag Park and two cases of drinks for up to 30 people
Additionally, PIC will display company provided banners around the river at this widely attended and publicized community event.
Entry into The PIC Race Around The River is only $50 per company. Again, only 24 companies will be allowed to compete. PIC will provide the costume and the company will provide only one participant.
PIC hosted the same event last year and it had a huge turn out. An even bigger turn out is expected next month.
“We hope that you can take the time to participate in this year's exciting and innovative event. Our previous four duck races raised more than $21,000 and help the fight against cancer here in the CNMI,” race director Glenn Policare said in a press release.
