The Grace Christian Academy Lady Eagles are soaring high off a five-win spurt since Day 1 of the Marianas Interscholastic Sports Organization high school girls volleyball season.
GCA routed Marians High School's Yellow Lady Dolphins (25-6, 25-9, 15-10 ) last Tuesday and then went through Saipan Southern High's Lady Manta Rays (25-15, 25-8, 15-9) and Saipan International School's Green Lady Geckos (25-13, 25-20, 15-8) this past Thursday at the MHS Gymnasium.
SIS Green and Mount Carmel School's Lady Knights hold a share of second place in the standings with identical 3-1 win-loss records.
SIS Green picked up a pair of wins last week over MHS Blue Lady Dolphins (25-22, 25-13, 9-15) and SSHS (25-15, 25-15, 15-10), while MCS toppled Kagman High's Lady Ayuyus (25-8, 25-10, 15-10), but fell to MHS Blue (19-25, 25-23, 15-11) after taking the opening set.
Behind them comes SIS' White Geckos with a slate of four wins and two faults with MHS Blue sitting in fifth with an even cad of 2W-2L.
Resurging SIS White bested the Lady Ayuyus (25-18, 25-22, 15-10), Lady Rays (25-6, 25-9, 15-10), and Lady Stormz (MBA 25-16, 22-25), 15-9 last week, while MHS Blue also weathered MBA (25-23, 12-25, 15-11) in Round 3.
KHS (1-2), MHS Yellow (1-2), Marianas Baptist Academy's Lady Stormz (1-4) and winless SSHS (0-4) who endured its second forfeit this past week to MHS Yellow.
MISO's fifth round of matches commences tomorrow at the MHS Gym starting at 4pm with MHS Blue taking on KHS on the north court and GCA versus SIS White on the south square.
Then at 5pm SIS Green faces off with MBA on the north end with MCS challenging MHS Yellow on the south court.
The final paring feature SSHS meeting MHS Blue on the north side and SIS Green on the south court against KHS at 6pm.
