Police arrested last week a 42-year-old man who allegedly sexually assaulted a girl in Kagman.
Police served Ray Anthony Ayuyu with an arrest warrant Thursday night on charges of sexual assault in the first degree, sexual abuse of a minor in the first degree, incest, assault and battery, and disturbing the peace.
During Friday's hearing, Superior Court associate judge David A. Wiseman imposed a $50,000 cash bail and set the preliminary hearing for Thursday, Jan. 24.
Police detective Nicholas C. Leon Guerrero Jr. stated in his report that a patrol officer responded to a residence in Kagman on Nov. 29, 2012, to investigate a complaint of sexual abuse of a minor.
The patrol officer talked to a 14-year-old girl who claimed that Ayuyu touched her private parts in September 2012.
The girl alleged that the suspect sexually abused her on at least two occasions while she was showering.
Assistant public defender Matt Meyer was appointed counsel for Ayuyu. Assistant attorney general Nicole Driscoll appeared for the government at the hearing.
