Individuals who are interested in registering for the University of Guam's Comprehensive NCLEX-RN Review Course should plan on attending the orientation scheduled for Jan. 25 at 4pm in the Nursing and Health Sciences Building, Room 229, UOG campus.
The course is designed for individuals who have completed a bachelor's level nursing program but who have not taken the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCLEX) examination for certification as a registered nurse. Individuals who have completed nursing programs at foreign universities are welcome to attend the orientation.
The 2012 NCLEX data show that 36 percent of internationally educated candidates pass the exam the first time compared to 92 percent of U.S.-educated candidates. This comprehensive course will provide candidates with a review of all areas of the examination.
The course will begin March 2 and run through August 2013 and will be taught by UOG Nursing faculty who have either master's or PhDs.
Registration fees are $1,060 for 265 hours of instruction. Review books will be an additional cost. Deadline to register is Feb. 15, 2013.
