The Grace Christian Academy's Lady Eagles still hold a flawless record and remain the team to beat in the 2012-2013 Marianas Interscholastic Sports Organization Girls Volleyball League.
The Eagles swept Saipan International School's White Lady Geckos (4-3), 25-13, 25-12, 15-9, last Tuesday at the Marianas High School Gymnasium to improve their record to 6-0.
GCA has some company hot in pursuit, as SIS's Green Lady Geckos added a pair of wins and MHS' Blue Lady Dolphins peeled off three straight wins.
Last Tuesday, SIS Green rallied past Marianas Baptist Academy's Lady Stormz (1-5) in the last two sets, 25-20, 15-12, after dropping the opening set, 24-26. The Lady Geckos then went on to rout Kagman High School's Lady Ayuyus (1-5), 25-16, 25-12,15-5, to move up to a 5-1 slate.
MHS Blue bested sister squad MHS Yellow Lady Dolphins (2-4), 25-12, 25-23, 15-9, in a make-up game last Saturday and then toppled the Saipan Southern High School's Lady Manta Rays (0-5), 25-12, 25-22, 15-10; and Kagman, 25-15, 25-15,15-9, last Tuesday to improve its card to 5-2.
In other results, MHS Yellow defeated KHS in a separate make-up pairing also last Saturday, 25-21, 25-19, 15-12, before falling to the fourth-ranked Mount Carmel School's Lady Knights (4-1) last Tuesday, 12-25, 23-25, 12-15.
Meanwhile, the season continues today for the Round 6 games. Also starting today, the third set will only be played, if needed. Matches will start at 4pm, with SIS Green squaring off with SIS White on the north court and MBA taking on GCA on the south end. At 5pm, MHS Yellow and KHS collide on the north square, while Southern meets Mt. Carmel on the south court. Then at 6pm MHS Yellow faces MHS Blue on the north side, while Southern challenges SIS Green on the south court.
