Director Misako Kamata presented Docomo Pacific general manager James Nelson and retail operations manager Pauline Johnson with a plaque of appreciation during a brief ceremony Monday at the telecommunication company's office on Middle Road.

Sonia Siwa of PDM Promoters said yesterday that Docomo Pacific is one of the three major sponsors that give annual financial support to their group.

“Docomo Pacific has been supportive of PDM Promoters for six years now,” she said.

According to Siwa, Docomo Pacific's yearly sponsorship has helped sustain their programs such as the Annual Christmas Tree Decoration Contest and the activities of the Saipan Awaodori Team, which is managed and trained by PDM Promoters.

Through the years, Docomo Pacific contributes in paying for the uniforms and other expenses of the young Awaodori dancers on island.

“Since we are a nonprofit group, we rely on the contributions of local businesses and Docomo Pacific is one of our generous sponsors year after year,” Siwa told Saipan Tribune.

Besides Docomo Pacific, the two other major sponsors of PDM Promoters that also received plaques of appreciation are DFS Galleria Saipan and the Tan Siu Lin Foundation, the charitable arm of Tan Holdings.

Siwa said that all three sponsors rally around PDM Promoters' efforts to make Paseo de Marianas a safe, clean, and family oriented place to visit among locals and tourists.

PDM Promoters is also known for organizing the Annual Awaodori Festival and conducting monthly cleanups in Garapan.
