The 3rd and 4th grade students from Whispering Palms School recently donated $200 to the American Red Cross to support programs in Africa. Ariya McGuire, Subin Cho, Jon Villagomez and Blake Mister were the student coordinators with help from Subin’s mom, Sophie Cho.
The Red Cross currently supports humanitarian relief work in many countries in Africa including Botswana, Horn of Africa, Kenya, Namibia, North Africa, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda and Zimbabwe.
In addition, the American Red Cross, in collaboration with the United Nations, has helped vaccinate millions of children against measles and rubella.
