MCS students plant flowers during Catholic School Week

Eleventh grade students from Mount Carmel High School show off the plants and flowers that they will be planting at the Guma Hustisia in Susupe on Monday, Jan. 28. (Contributed Photo) Eleventh grade students from Mount Carmel High School planted Hibiscus and Exora plants and flowers on Monday, Jan. 28, at the Guma Hustisia in Susupe. This beautification project was part of the students' annual service to the community undertaken during Catholic School Week.

The plantings of flowers in front of the courthouse was also a demonstration of the students' appreciation of the Judges in the Classroom program conducted by members of the Judiciary at their school during Law Month 2012. The students also wished to show thanks for the instruction, guidance, and facilities provided by the Judiciary for the “Mock Trial” practices and competitions, in which many Mount Carmel students are intensely involved.
Rosiky Camacho, adviser for the eleventh grade, accompanied the students. James Babauta of the forestry division of the Department of Land and Natural Resources coordinated the planting and donation of the plants. Thirty-two students participated. (NMI Judiciary)
