Rep. Teresita Santos (R-Rota) now chairs the four-member Rota Legislative Delegation following their organizational session on Wednesday, days after their Saipan and Tinian counterparts held theirs.
Sen. Jovita Taimanao (Ind-Rota) is delegation vice chair, while Senate floor leader Victor Hocog (R-Rota) is delegation floor leader.
Sen. Juan Ayuyu (Ind-Rota), the previous delegation chairman, was absent during Wednesday's organizational session because he remains in jail related to criminal charges filed against him when he attempted to smuggle endangered fruit bats from Rota to Saipan.
The delegation's first regular session under the new leadership is this afternoon, and they may act on Santos's House Local Bill 18-3 appropriating $45,000 from poker and pachinko slot machines license fees for Rota programs and services.
