A regular publication that will highlight important updates at the Commonwealth Health Center will soon be circulated to the public after the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. approved the creation of a monthly newsletter starting this week.
Corporation CEO Juan N. Babauta told Saipan Tribune that 3,000 copies are being printed for the maiden issue.
The newsletter, he said, will provide detailed information about the hospital, Division of Public Health programs, and other initiatives of the organization.
Babauta said the hospital's first issue will be packed with statistics, data, and records that have never been provided to the public before. The newsletter will also be featured in the corporation's website, which is undergoing construction and upgrade.
According to Babauta, launching both the newsletter and website is key to maintaining the corporation's transparency. Both media, he said, will be a good source of information about the hospital and related health programs and projects.
Babauta recently appointed Amber Lynn Mendiola to chair the committee that will handle the newsletter. The committee had its first meeting on Jan. 11 to identify members who will collaborate on the project. These included Bureau of Environmental Health director John Tagabuel, who will manage follow-ups, logistics assistance, and advise the committee; Emergency Preparedness director Warren Villagomez, who will manage the procurement of equipment; and Public Health director Roxanne Diaz, who will handle the news updates from the public health side. She will also sit as an adviser of the committee. Other individuals from key units of the corporation will also help.
