$75K cash bail for stabbing suspect

The suspect in the stabbing of a security guard during a foiled robbery at a poker arcade in Dandan is currently being held on a $75,000 cash bail.

Edward Deleon Guerrero, 18, is charged with aggravated assault and battery, assault with a dangerous weapon, disturbing the peace, and minor consuming liquor.

Preliminary hearing is on Feb. 12 at 1:30pm.

Acting police spokesman Sgt. Thomas Blas Jr. said yesterday that the victim, Ferdinand Martin, 48, was treated at the Commonwealth Health Center for lacerations on his neck, ear, and right thumb. Martin was admitted for further observation, he added.

Blas said that Deleon Guerrero called DPS on the day of the alleged attack, saying that he was turning himself in.

Patrol officer Abraham Villagomez found Deleon Guerrero along Holiday Drive in Dandan Homestead. Deleon Guerrero, who smelled of alcohol, allegedly confessed he tried to rob the poker arcade.

The cashier and another witness identified Deleon Guerrero as the person who entered the poker arcade and attacked the guard with a knife.
