(Contributed Photo) Ball Busters, Tu Madre, MIA, and I Don't Know topped their respective age divisions in last Saturday's Junior/Kids Coed Grass Volleyball tournament held on the Navy Hill Athletics Field.

Ball Busters, made up of Sally Hwang, Kentaro Kitagawa, Masaki Kitami, and Luther Lizama, won the U13 mixed category, while Frankie Camacho, Bryan Daria, Satcy Escueta, and Melanie Nakamura of Tu Madre took the U18 mixed division.

J.R. Gechig and Wilton Laniyo of MIA ruled the U25 men's doubles with Hannah Compos and Chenny Lizama of I Don't Know beating all comers in the U25 doubles.

Ball Busters beat out six other U13 squads and made it past Cookie Monsters, 15-8, The Others, 15-11, and Living Like Larry, 15-13, before succumbing to Living Like Larry in the first finals face off, 5-15.

The team, however, regrouped and knocked off its rival in the tiebreaker final, 16-14. Funky, Oh Dude, and the Young Guns completed the field.

Tu Madre topped nine other teams and earned a first round bye in pool play before advancing through the Sparkles 1, 17-15, the Zoners, 15-9, and Give & Go, 15-10, en route to the championship set where it downed Give & Go once again, 21-18, for the win.

ATH, Bang Dat, Hudbag Chones, Isaiah & The Girls, Team Fail, and You Got Served represented the other competing groups.

MIA toppled six other couples, earning a first round bye before tearing through Das It, 15-11, and Previet, 15-10, to clinch a twice-to-beat advantage in the finals, but only needed one set to knock off Previet in the end, 15-11. The Clippers, the Lambs, Mini Macs, and Zoolander made up the rest of the field.

IDK bested nine other pairs to claim top honors and also benefited from a first round bye as they went on to defeat Beast Mode, 15-10, Sparkles 2, 15-3, and No Idea, 15-10, before ousting No Idea in one final set, 21-11. The Hats, the Fireballs, MFC, Oh My Gawd-Unicorns, Scorpio, and Spicy also took part in the division.

The tournament was organized by the Northern Marianas Volleyball Association.
