A student who graduated at the top of his class last school year has made it to the University of Washington's Dean's List for Autumn Quarter 2012.
The Quarterly Dean’s List includes the names of students who have attained a quarterly GPA of 3.50 in the final grades for at least 12 graded credits.
Billie Ocampo is Mount Carmel School's valedictorian in 2012. His inclusion on the university's Dean's List will be included in his permanent academic record.
Ocampo was informed of the good news in a letter from the university's interim dean, Robert C. Stacey, who commended Ocampo for his outstanding scholarship and dedication to his studies.
Ocampo is the son of Marida Pensader, the operations support manager for DFS Saipan Limited, who said: “Apart from his perseverance, I believe MCS had prepared him well to succeed.”
MCS president and Ocampo's former AP English teacher Galvin Deleon Guerrero was very happy to hear the good news. “Billie was always a diligent student with great writing skills, and we are very proud of his accomplishments.”
