The CNMI Department of Commerce's Central Statistics Division is reminding all businesses in the CNMI of the 2012 Economic Census deadline.
As stated in previous press releases and on the 2012 Economic Census questionnaires, the deadline was Feb. 12, 2013. This due date has passed, “and if you have not already done so, please return your Economic Census form or complete and submit it online. The web address for online completion is located on the front page of the form along with the username and password required to log in,” the division said in a statement yesterday.
The data collected from this 2012 Economic Census is an invaluable tool for governments and businesses to ascertain the shape and size of the economy. It can drive investment opportunities and tax policies. This is why it is important to complete the forms.
“I also wanted to point out that a company can get an extension by going to the Business help site at http://bhs.econ.census.gov/ec12/index.html and then clicking on the link for Online Services. This will allow them to log in with their username and password from the front of their form and request a Time Extension, additional forms, a re-mail of forms, send an email with questions through the secure messaging system or report electronically,” said Geoffrey Hill of the Census Bureau.
“Our sincere appreciations to those businesses that have submitted their forms, I encourage the remaining to please complete and submit theirs,” said Commerce Secretary Sixto Igisomar.
