A fireman at the Department of Public Safety was arrested early Saturday morning at the Micro Beach parking lot for alleged domestic violence. The firefighter was also allegedly found in possession of marijuana.
A source said yesterday that firefighter Jamie Cuellar, 23, was arrested for assault and battery, disturbing the peace, and illegal possession of controlled substance.
Superior Court Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho issued the arrest warrant and imposed a $5,000 cash bail, the source said.
Drinking alcohol was allegedly involved.
Cuellar allegedly wanted his girlfriend to get into a fight with another woman. When the girlfriend refused, the firefighter allegedly pushed her twice.
When Cuellar was booked and processed at the Department of Corrections, DOC officers allegedly found on him a bag that allegedly contained marijuana.
If he fails to post over the weekend, Cuellar is expected to be taken to court today for a bail hearing.
