Search on for snorkeler swept out to sea

APRA HARBOR, Guam-The U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Navy, and CNMI Department of Public Safety are searching for a 61-year-old Saipan resident who was swept out to sea from Obyan Beach, Saipan.

The snorkeler was reportedly last seen in the water off Obyan Beach at approximately 4:45pm Tuesday, wearing a long-sleeved blue shirt, a pair of yellow shorts, and a diving mask with snorkel.

Coast Guard Sector Guam was notified by the CNMI Emergency Management Office at 7:30pm after the wife of the snorkeler reported him missing.

DPS boat crews and the U.S. Navy Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 25 are taking part in the search.
