Aniceto Ogumoro removed as police director
Capt. Leon Guerrero tapped as police operations commander

Department of Public Safety Commissioner James Deleon Guerrero has removed Aniceto Ogumoro as police director and appointed Capt. Pete Leon Guerrero as police operations commander.

Deleon Guerrero disclosed yesterday that he assigned police director Ogumoro to the DPS Boating Safety Program a couple of weeks ago and that he tapped Leon Guerrero last week to sere as police operations commander.

The commissioner said that Ogumoro is currently the boating law administrator for the CNMI, a position that was designated to him by then governor Benigno R. Fitial.

The police director position is now vacant, Deleon Guerrero said.

He said the reshuffle has to do with making sure that there are no obstructions to the ongoing investigations being carried out by the Office of the Public Auditor.

“That in essence has assisted us quite a great deal in terms of making sure that full cooperation is facilitated,” the commissioner said.

Aniceto Ogumoro's brother, Ambrosio Ogumoro, is still the DPS deputy commissioner.
