Five teams cruised to victories in Week 4 of the 2013 NMIFA Spring Youth League.
In the girls U15, Matansa Football Club shut out Shirley's FC, 3-0, last Saturday at the Hopwood Junior High School Field.
Angelica Sally drilled a pair of goals for Matansa, while her sister Lyka Sally added one to give their team its third win in as many games. Shirley's fell to a 2-2 record.
In the other girls U15 match, Tan Holdings clobbered Paire FC, 6-1.
Chloe Salvosa made a hat-trick for Tan Holdings in the first half, scoring in the 17th, 24th, and 29th minute to lead the squad to its second victory. Tan Holdings' three other goals came from different players with Krizel Mae Tuazon getting her first goal of the season in the 58th minute and Mary Christine Alferos making it to the scoreboard, too, three minutes later. Brittany Wally gave Tan Holdings its sixth goal in the 77th minute.
Guinevere Borja canned the lone goal for Paire (0-3)
BOYS U15
Matansa 9, Shirley's 1
Matansa posted the most lopsided win last weekend after crushing Shirley's at the Oleai Sports Complex Field.
Ryu Tanzawa collected five goals to power Matansa to the big victory, while Terrence Belcher and Kenneth Mafnas chipped in two each. Tanzawa completed a hat-trick early, recording his first three goals in the first half (2nd, 22nd, and 35th minute) and Matansa closed out the first half with a 4-0 advantage after Belcher got his first goal in the 44th minute.
Tanzawa then opened Matansa's scoring in the second half with his back-to-back goals (51st and 54th ), while Mafnas also nailed two straight goals (58th and 72nd), while Belcher earned his second in the 75th.
Saxian Bassic avoided a shutout for Shirley's when he lit up the scoreboard in the 48th minute.
Paire 4, Tan Holdings 1
Paire had had an easier victory last weekend after dominating Tan Holdings.
Ivan Seo canned twin goals, while Billy Hinson and Joel Fruit contributed one apiece.
Emanuel Aniana scored the lone goal for Tan Holdings, as he drew first blood after finding the back of the net in the 14th minute. Paire then equalized six minutes later off Hinson's shot.
It was Paire's turn to log the first goal in the second half, courtesy of Seo's conversion in the 47th minute. Seo then got his second goal nine minutes later and Fruit also scored in the 70th, while Tan Holdings' offense went cold.
BOYS U18
Paire 4, Tan Holdings 1
Paire was also victorious in its U18 match against Tan Holdings.
Again, Tan Holdings scored first off Dan Ibarra's goal in the 13th minute, but lost the lead and the game after allowing Paire to post two goals apiece in the first and second half.
Thomas Lee's goal in the 21st tied the match and Paire grabbed the upper hand after Jeff Palacios earned a goal 15 minutes later. Joel Fruit made it a 3-1 advantage with his goal in the 63rd and Lee completed the rout with a goal seven minutes before the match wrapped up.
