CRIME OF THE WEEK
Garapan robbery

NMI Crime Stoppers is seeking the public's help for information on a robbery incident that occurred behind Duty Free Shoppers Galleria in Garapan.

On Thursday, March 7, 2013, at about 6:45pm, the victim, an elderly Japanese male tourist, was walking behind DFS Galleria toward Garapan Elementary School. The suspect, described as a local male, about 5'6” tall, with short hair, dark complexion, wearing dark pants, and a dark shirt grabbed the victim's brown Louis Vuitton bag and fled north on Alaihai Avenue toward the school.

The victim chased the suspect but lost sight of him at the intersection of Alaihai Avenue and Orchid St. The items stolen include: a brown Louis Vuitton bag, a black AU smartphone, a platinum Cartier ring, a silver Canon digital camera, and about $200 cash. The total amount of the stolen items is estimated at over $9,000. The victim was not injured in the incident.
