The Marianas Golf Association is holding its March Ace of the Month Tournament this Sunday at the Laolao Bay Golf Resort's east course. Show time is set for 9am leading up to a 10am tee off.
Club president Carl Hocog's invitation for any interested new members to join remains open.
The MGA requires a $50 annual membership fee, which is coincidentally due to be paid in full this Sunday.
Participating members are also subject to a special green fee rate of $35 for each monthly event; there are currently about 20 current members to date and more are always welcome.
The newly formed group would also like to thank Laolao Bay Golf Resort for their help and support.
Tournaments are played with a handicap system where players maintaining a handicap of 10 and under tee off from the championship tees (blue); and those with a handicap of 11 and above tee off from the men's intermediate white tees; while female participants tee off from the red ladies tees. MGA takes pride in its handicap system as most other organizations do not utilize the championship tees during their monthly contests. To compensate, members who tee off from the championship tees are subject to a +2 handicap that will be added to their final standing in effort to ensure more competitive results.
