Guam legislative staffers test neg for drugs

HAGATNA, Guam (AP)-Several Guam legislative staffers have been tested for drug use.

The Pacific Daily News reports that legislative staffers for Speaker Judith Won Pat and Vice Speaker Benjamin Cruz underwent drug testing. Their offices say they tested drug-free. Cruz also tested negative for drugs.

Won Pat and Cruz’s staffers were tested for a variety of drugs. The tests comes after Chris Carillo, a former staffer at Cruz’ office, was arrested for alleged drug possession in late February.

Drug tests currently are not a condition of employment at the Legislature for either employees or senators, but Won Pat would like to change that.
