The Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. board of trustees unanimously voted today not to renew the employment contract of CEO Juan N. Babauta due to several reasons such as the official’s failure to provide an adequate leadership and strategic direction to the corporation.
The board also adopted a resolution endorsing the immediate announcement and hiring of CEO and chief financial officer for the hospital.
The board’s decision was transmitted today to Gov. Eloy S. Inos who will make the final determination on the issue.
Babauta’s $96,000 contract is expiring on July 9.
