Chamber meeting on Wednesday

The Saipan Chamber of Commerce will hold its July general membership luncheon meeting this Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at the Pacific Islands Club.

James Nelson, Saipan Docomo Pacific/MCV general manager, will speak to the association on the recent merger between Docomo Pacific and Marianas Cable Vision.

Luncheon begins at 11:30am, with the general membership meeting starting at 12pm and ending at 1pm. Chamber members are charged $15, while guests and the general public pay $20.

Red Cross trainings set

The American Red Cross is scheduled to conduct Preparedness Health & Safety training on the following dates:

* July 16 at 6pm: Adult CPR/AED

* July 18 at 6pm: Pediatric CPR/AED

Classes are held at the chapter training room on Airport Road. Course fees apply. For more information on the courses listed or other certification courses, contact the chapter office at 234-3459 or visit www.redcross.org/take-a-class. (ARC)

Military training at Warning Area 517, FDM

The U.S. Navy will conduct training at Warning Area 517 on July 8, from 6am to 8am. The U.S. Air Force will conduct training at Warning Area 517 on July 9-11, from 10:30am to 1pm.

The U.S. Marines will conduct training on the island of Farallon de Medinilla on July 10-12, from 8am to 10pm.

The general public—especially fishermen, commercial pilots, and marine tour operators—are advised to stay clear from the area during the times and dates indicated.

W-517 is an irregular shaped polygon comprising 14,000 nautical square miles of airspace that begins south of Guam and extends south-southwest in international waters.

The general location of the training on the island of Farallon de Medinilla training area will be on a 10-nautical-mile radius on all quadrants. (PR)
