Juan Diego V. Tenorio was appointed Budget and Finance director for the CNMI Judiciary on Aug. 7, 2013.
Tenorio, affectionately known as “JD,” graduated from Hawaii Pacific University in 2003 with a bachelor of science degree in Business Administration with a finance major. He worked for the Office of the Public Auditor for three years, from 2004 through 2007, and served as the Emergency Services director for the CNMI Red Cross until accepting his appointment with the Judiciary.
As Budget and Finance Director, Tenorio’s responsibilities include coordination of fiscal goals, management of the court’s financial processes, maintenance of expenditure data and annual budget preparation.
Chief Justice Alexandro C. Castro, who made the appointment, said: “JD’s appointment allows the Judiciary to maximize oversight of its finances. While we could not hire a director of courts due to budgetary constraints, the creation of the Budget and Finance director position allows us to effectively manage our limited resources. I am excited about JD joining the Judiciary.”
Tenorio expressed enthusiasm for his new position saying, “Good budgeting and tight financial controls are important for any institution; I intend to continue and even improve on that tradition at the Judiciary.” (NMI Judiciary)
