PIN.net topped the 49th Philippine Bowling Association-Budweiser Saturday Night League, besting seven other teams in the 18-week competition.
PIN.net finished the season with a 49-23 win-loss record for a winning percentage of 68.1. The champion team, which is composed of Raymond Angeles, Ferdee Generoso, Allan Hernandez, Richard Leong, Ricky Moscoso, Rusty Musca, Joel Ranjo, and Eric Rabang, collected 53,442 pinfalls this season, averaged 837 per game, and earned the league’s best high game score (1,063), handicap game (1,185), high series (2,907), and handicap series (3,273).
Placing second to PIN.net was One Shot, which rounded out the season with a 45-27 slate. The runner-up team has Randy Abreu, Ben Aizon, Wrene Alegre, Atoy Banting, Efren Cacdac, Gloria Omechelang, and Myrna Santos as members. One Shot had a winning percentage of 62.5 and gathered 52,516 pinfalls for an average of 791.
Joining PIN.net and One Shot in the Top 3 was D’Unknown, which is composed of Ron Cal, Raul Dumapit, Darwin Gonzales, Dannie Robles, Joe Sablan, Rene Cariaso, and Kathy Mersai. The third placer team registered a 41-31 record, 56.9 winning percentage, and 52,959 pinfalls for an average of 861.
The Top 3 finishers received trophy and cash prizes with $550 going PIN.net and $350 and $200 to One Shot and D’Unknown, respectively. Also taking home a cash prize was SBC’s/J’s Restaurant, which pocketed $100 for placing fourth.
SBC’s/J’s Restaurant, which owned a 39-33 card this season, has Edward Baluyan, Dianne Chong, Roger De Guzman, Willy Egipto, Percy Omechelang, Robert Talavera, Simeon Eparwa, Alex Castro, and Paul Pangelinan as members. SBC’s/J’s Restaurant notched 53,569 pinfalls this season and had a league second best average of 854.
The Top 4 teams got their awards and cash prizes during a brief ceremony last Saturday at the Saipan Bowling Center. PBA officials also recognized the top individual performers of the season. Leading the list were most improved players and individual high average winners Raymond Zapanta of Fiesta Resort & Spa and Gloria Omechelang. Omechelang also swept the high scratch game and series and handicap, while Talavera ruled the high scratch game and series, and Youth Bowlers’ Ryan Batac prevailed in high handicap game and series categories.
