DFS Saipan Ltd, a founding sponsor of the Docomo Pacific Golf Classic and advocate of the Marianas Tourism Education Council, continued its support of the annual golf event with a $2,000 donation.
“We must continue to educate the next generation of leaders in our community about the value and importance of the tourism industry. A vibrant tourism industry leads to job creation, growth of the economy and raises the living standard in the community,” said DFS Saipan president Marian Aldan-Pierce,.
To date, this year’s tournament has raised over $10,000 in cash from sponsorships alone. In-kind contributions will add another $10,000 or more in value that will be used as prizes and incidentals during the tournament. Overall, it is anticipated that after settling all tournament expenses, the net proceeds for MTEC will be $10,000 or more.
“This year, sponsorship participation has been better than ever. All our sponsors from previous years have come to the table in support of the students and the MTEC organization and new sponsors have joined in as well. Of course, we welcome any person or business who wishes to donate either cash or in-kind prizes to the event,” said Docomo Pacific’s general manager James Nelson,.
The Docomo Pacific Golf Classic will be held on Aug. 31 at the Mariana Country Club. Golfers are encouraged to sign-up early as player slots are filling fast. Show time for all golfers is at 7am and tee time is at 8am.
