Team SUFA will be hosting a softball fundraising tournament this weekend at the Dandan Elementary School Ballfield.
The tournament is for Masters or players in the 40-and-above age group and will run this Saturday and Sunday. Entrance fee is set at $150 per team. There is no deadline to register, however, the first 10 teams to pay in full will land a spot in the double-elimination bracket.
Each team must have two female players (any age division) on its roster and at least one should be in the field at all times, and both must be at the batting lineup. There is a maximum of 15 players per team. The bracket will be randomly formulated and the event is scheduled to kick off at 9am this Saturday, while the championship game is set for Sunday.
SUFA is a non-profit organization and is doing fundraising events to compete in the CNMI Labor Day Softball Tournament held in the mainland. The annual tournament is on its ninth year and SUFA will be competing for the sixth time. Team SUFA placed fifth out of the 19 teams that participated in last year’s tournament in Boise, Idaho. This year, Team SUFA is heading to Big League Field of Dreams in Gilbert, Arizona, for the Aug. 31 and Sept. 1 competition.
Meanwhile, team SUFA would like to thank all those who supported their fundraising efforts.
