A man who barged inside a classroom at Hopwood Junior High School in Chalan Piao and confronted his former girlfriend in front of her students was slapped with a six-month prison term.
Brian Lee Delos Reyes, 40, pleaded guilty on Wednesday to disturbing the peace as part of a plea deal. Two other charges of criminal contempt were dropped as part of the deal.
Superior Court Associate Judge David A. Wiseman sentenced Delos Reyes to six months in prison. The sentence will be served without the possibility of parole.
Wiseman said the sentence shall run consecutive or in addition to Delos Reyes’ previous sentence in a 2012 criminal case.
During his five-year probation, Delos Reyes is barred from having direct or indirect contact with the victim. He is also ordered to stay a minimum of 100 yards away from her house and place of employment.
According to the plea deal, on Jan. 8, 2013, Delos Reyes, only 10 days after being ordered by the court to stay away from his former girlfriend, entered Hopwood Junior High School where she works, went to her classroom, and confronted her in front of her students.
School principal Jonas Barcinas was forced to order security officers not to let Delos Reyes back into the school property.
