Paire Football Club will host friendly games against Tinian players this Saturday at the Koblerville Elementary School Field.
Paire FC board member Derek Chambers said the visiting players are from the Tinian Premier Football Club and are in the U8 to U12 age group.
“To get ready for the upcoming soccer season Paire has planned two friendly tournaments against a soccer club from Tinian. Tinian has formed a soccer league and some of their players are coming to Saipan to have some friendly matches against Paire,” Chambers said in an email to Saipan Tribune.
The Paire-Tinian Premier series of friendly matches on Saipan is tentatively set from 10am to 12nn and the host club is inviting its members to participate in the games.
“The Tinian players are eager and ready to test their new skills on our U8-U12 players. So let’s show them what we got. We need as many U8-U12 players as possible to come out and play this Saturday,” Chambers added.
After this weekend’s friendly matches, Paire will head to Tinian on Sept. 7 for the second and final leg of the goodwill tournament. Paire said Star Marianas will be providing free airfare to the club players heading to Tinian next month and time and venue of the friendly matches will be announced later.
Meanwhile, Paire held a jamboree and registration last Saturday at the Oleai Sports Complex Field to kick off it campaign in the 2013 NMIFA Fall League. The club, which is supported by Docomo Pacific, will be fielding teams in the U6, U8, U10, U12, U15, and U18 divisions of the league that will kick off next month at the various school fields on Saipan.
Paire welcomed new players and returnees at the jamboree, which ran for more than two hours and had participants joining drills and scrimmage.
