The Office of Grants Management announced yesterday a grant opportunity for the East Asia and Pacific Summer Institutes for U.S. Graduate Students, or EAPSI. An EAPSI award provides U.S. graduate students in science, engineering, and education with first-hand research experiences in Australia, China, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Singapore, or Taiwan. The program also provides an introduction to the science, science policy, and scientific infrastructure of the respective location and an orientation to the society, culture, and language. EAPSI awards will help students initiate professional relationships to enable future collaboration with foreign counterparts.
Proposals may only be submitted by individual graduate students, not through the institutions at which they are enrolled. This requires that, during the application process, each student registers as an institution and serves as his or her own Authorized Organizational Representative.
