Saipan through Paire Football Club played host to the Tinian Premier FC, which suited up in three friendly games at the Koblerville Elementary School Field last week.
Paire FC challenged the fledgling Tinian Premier FC to U8, U10, and U12 matches with around 60 players from the visiting club showing their new found skills to the over 40 players from the host.
From Koblerville, two Tinian Premier FC coaches went to San Antonio to attend a two-hour coaching clinic. Saipan Soccer School and Chelsea FC Soccer School of Hong Kong held the clinic, which drew 33 other coaches from MP United FC, Paire FC, Tan Holdings FC, Shirley’s FC, Kanoa FC, and Matansa FC. AFC License B coach Jason Chung and former Hong Kong National Team player Kwok On “David” Tsui of Chelsea FC Soccer School of Hong Kong led the clinic and were assisted by SSS’ Jershwin Angeles, Mae Ito, Ruselle Zapanta, and Irish Pagarao.
From San Antonio, representatives of the various clubs also trooped to Kanoa Resort to receive balls and draw string bags SSC donated through the Tan Siu Lin Foundation. Each club received 15 balls and 15 bags, which they could use for training sessions for this fall season.
Meanwhile, other sports were also busy last week.
Northern Marianas Badminton Association held championship games for the 2013 Shirley’s Badminton Classic at the TSL Sports Complex, while Saipan Baseball League, Inc. continued with the regular season games in the 2nd Annual Triple A Youth Baseball League at the Francisco “Tan Ko” Palacios Ballfield.
Basketball Association of Northern Mariana Islands had its U15 and U19 games in the 22nd Annual Saipan Rotary Club Youth Basketball League, while DL Corp. held the title game between eventual champion Adobo and RadioCom.
Saipan Bowling Association held its August roll-offs with Ron Cal and Paul Pangelinan topping the women’s and men’s divisions, respectively.
