The Mariana Islands Nature Alliance was overwhelmed at the resounding success and overwhelming support shown at its 2nd Annual Green Gala fundraising event held at the Fiesta Resort & Spa’s Hibiscus Hall this past Saturday, Sept. 7.
Community members, including teachers, the business community, government officials, lawmakers and concerned citizens, opened their wallets and turned out, dressed to the nines, to show their support for MINA’s various community projects, including the Tasi Watch Program, the Environmental Camp Project, the Adopt-A-Bin Program, and the upcoming Managaha Pride Campaign.
As a result of the community’s generous contributions, MINA grossed over $42,000, including $20,000 cash raised and $22,000 from in-kind donations. This money will be used to continue MINA’s efforts to preserve and protect the CNMI’s fragile environment and biodiversity.
