SANTA RITA, Guam—Naval Facilities Engineering Command Marianas awarded on Sept. 11, 2013, a $ 23.8 million firm‐fixed price task order to Tutor Perini Corp., a large business, for whole house revitalization work at Lockwood Terrace family housing units at Naval Base Guam.
The 60-unit housing improvement project involves multiple upgrades that include reconfiguration of interior living spaces such as living rooms, dining areas, kitchens, hallways, bedrooms, bathrooms, and family rooms. Additionally, existing carports will be turned into closed garages.
Five percent of the Lockwood housing units will be converted into accessible units to comply with Americans with Disabilities Act/Architectural Barrier Act.
“This project speaks volumes of the strides we continue to make to ensure Guam is a first-class duty destination,” said Capt. Mike Ward, Naval Base Guam commanding officer. “The planned renovations will help modernize critical housing facilities for the base and more importantly further enhance the quality of life for our sailors and families.” (USN)
