The Pacific Islands Club Saipan raised $5,000 for the American Red Cross NMI Chapter during its “PIC Palooza—The Game Show” held last Sept. 7 at Charley’s Cabaret.
PIC Saipan executive assistant Vicky Benavente said the San Antonio resort is very thrilled for raising that amount for a worthy cause.
“The Palooza Party was a lot of fun and games, really fun games,” said Benavente. “The support from the community with the ticket sales for the NMI Red Cross was absolutely remarkable and for this we are all grateful.”
ARC executive director John Hirsh said he is very grateful for the $5,000 raised by PIC Saipan on behalf of their organization.
“I’m really humbled by the fact that PIC Saipan chose the American Red Cross as this year’s beneficiary of their annual Palooza event. So many people attended the event and it just goes to show that people are still willing to give money for a good cause.”
Currently, he said the local chapter of the American Red Cross is setting funds for its preparedness and response campaigns.
The American Red Cross NMI Chapter has about 170 members on Saipan, Tinian, and Rota. It also has member groups at Mt. Carmel School, Marianas High School, Kagman High School, and Saipan Southern High School.
Over 200 people took part in the “PIC Palooza—The Game Show” last Sept. 7.
