The Marianas Visitors Authority joined representatives of over 150 other countries and regions at Japan’s largest annual travel show on Sept. 13-15, 2013.
JATA “TABIHAKU” Travel Showcase was held at Tokyo Big Sight and attracted national tourism agencies, airlines, hotels, travel agencies, cruise companies, and other tourism agencies. Exhibitors provided the latest tourism information to visitors and professional members of the travel trade. This year, the showcase attracted over 131,000 attendees.
In addition to manning an information booth, the MVA had six local arts and crafts demonstrators. SandCastle Saipan’s magician also performed.
“JATA Travel Showcase remains on the top of our list of annual marketing shows in Japan, due to its wide popularity with the general public and travel trade representatives,” said MVA marketing manager Bruce Bateman. “Despite an approaching typhoon, there was a record number of attendees this year, and Northern Mariana Islands were well represented under the Visit USA pavilion with other U.S. destinations.”
