The Chamorro Psycholinguistics na Project is seeking native Chamorro speakers, 18 years or over, to take a National Science Foundation-funded project experiment at the Saipan Chamorro-Carolinian Cultural Center, The experiment is conducted in Chamorro and will take no more than 15 minutes. Anyone interested may stop by the Cultural Center, which is located at 1213 Capitol Hill Road, on Capital Hill, on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, anytime from 8am to 2pm.
The general purpose of the experiment is to learn how Chamorro speakers use the Chamorro language. Learning how we use language (in general) helps us uncover principles of how the mind works. Smaller languages like Chamorro are not often included in scientific studies and this experiment tries to change that. Chamorro language contains many unique and valuable features and understanding them will improve the quality of the general theories of the human mind.
The Chamorro Psycholinguistics na Project thanks the members of the community for their willingness to participate.
