Pacific Islands Club Saipan turned over last week the $5,000 it raised during the 2013 PIC Palooza Party to the American Red Cross NMI Chapter.
PIC Saipan executive assistant Vicky Benavente, along with PIC Saipan SEA operations manager Dennis Tababa and executive Glenn Policare, were on hand to personally hand the check to John Hirsh, executive director of the local chapter of the ARC.
“On behalf of PIC Saipan general manager Hiro Sugie, we’re happy to present this donation to the NMI American Red Cross. It’s an honor to give the proceeds from the 2013 PIC Palooza Party to the American Red Cross, knowing what this organization has provided for the people of the islands, especially in times of disaster and emergencies,” said Benavente.
Hirsh earlier said the money donated by the San Antonio hotel would come in handy for the non-profit organization’s preparedness and response campaigns.
Over 200 people attended the “PIC Palooza—The Game Show” held on Sept. 7 at Charley’s Cabaret.
The American Red Cross NMI Chapter has about 170 members on Saipan, Tinian, and Rota. It also has member groups at Mt. Carmel School, Marianas High School, Kagman High School, and Saipan Southern High School.
Past beneficiaries of the PIC Palooza include the Mariana Islands Nature Alliance, Guma Esperanza Women’s Shelter, PAWS, Beautify CNMI, and Karidat.
