A 57-year-old woman us suing for the injuries that she allegedly suffered after slipping and falling on the floor of the Mobil gas station in Garapan in July.
Soledad Duenas, through counsel Victorino DLG. Torres, is suing Mobil Oil Mariana Islands Inc. and AA Enterprises Inc., for alleged negligence and violation of the Consumer Protection Act.
Duenas is demanding an unspecified amount of damages. She sought for attorney’s and court costs and asked for a jury trial.
Saipan Tribune tried but failed to get comments from Mobil and AA Enterprises yesterday.
Torres stated in the complaint that Duenas went to the Mobil station in Garapan on July 7, 2013, to buy food from the McDonald’s Restaurant inside the gas station.
Torres said that Duenas slipped and fell on the wet slippery floor as she was leaving the building via the rear exit.
The lawyer said there were no protective carpet where Duenas fell and that there were no signs to warn customers or guests of the slippery floor.
He said Duenas sustained injuries from the incident that required hospitalization.
Torres said the defendants failed to exercise reasonable care to maintain its premises and its floor in a safe condition.
