The Marianas Alliance of Non-Governmental Organizations, Inc., or MANGO, is inviting all non-governmental organizations or non-profits to attend its annual membership meeting on Sept. 30, 2013, at 3pm, at the NMPASI conference room in Gualo Rai, Saipan.
MANGO is also launching its annual membership drive to register and welcome all non-profits or NGOs as associate members.
“Our goal is to expand current membership and to better plan and collaborate as a strong non-profit sector alliance so that we can proactively access valuable endowment and federal grant dollars, continually build local capacity, and be more proficient in our roles as volunteers and board members,” said the group in a statement yesterday. “Our objective is to improve our service delivery systems such that we maximize program and service impact to our target consumers from the meager grant resources and skills talent we seek and access.”
Since its inception in December 2010, MANGO has provided a series of local capacity building trainings in partnership with Payu-ta, Inc. (Guam’s umbrella association for non-profits) and the Office of Minority Health Resources.
The trainings provided to date and which are geared exclusively for non-profit volunteers and board members only included board development, resource development, grants writing, fundraising, fiscal management, advocacy, grants writing, leadership development, and strategic planning, and train-the-trainers. Future trainings will include financial literacy and cultural competency, among others.
Please email your organization’s official name, valid mailing address, official point of contact(s), valid e-mail addresses, officers’ names and valid phone and fax contacts to: email@example.com.
MANGO president Maria C. Pangelinan can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org and MANGO general email at email@example.com.
MANGO was chartered and licensed by the CNMI Corporate Registrar in December 2010, and is the umbrella association for all NGOs or non-profits in the CNMI and is an associate member of the regional Pacific Coalition. Founding members include Maria Cepeda Pangelinan, Polly Omechelang, Maisie Bermudes Tenorio, Frances Manibusan Sablan, Jesse J. Torres, Al Cabael, Joann Aquino, Lydia D. Igitol, John DLR. “Bolis” Gonzales, Rhea Chong, George Cruz, and Rose Castro.
New members are always welcome and look forward to finalizing our new membership database to include as many, if not all, of non-profit groups on Rota, Tinian, and Saipan. (MANGO)
