Action in the 2013 NMIFA Youth Fall League finally unfurled over the weekend with MP United FC notching twin wins against Paire FC at the Oleai Sports Complex Field.
In the boys U15 division last Friday, MP United shutout Paire, 6-0. The MP United-Paire tiff was the third match scheduled for the season as the double-header set for the opener on Sept. 13 was called off due to rain. Tan Holdings FC and Paire was slated to meet in the first game in the opener and Matansa FC and Shirley’s FC were set to duel in the second match, while MP United drew a bye.
With both opening day matches cancelled, MP United ended up kicking off the season and got off to a strong start with a demolition of Paire. Daniel Lim led the big win, as he scored four goals, while Cody Leon and Edwin Kim chipped in one apiece.
Lim began the game with back-to-back goals, as he lit up the board in the 16th and 25th minute. Then five minutes into the second half Lim completed a hat-trick, while Leon made it a 4-0 lead for MP United with his goal in the 55th minute. Kim added one more goal eight minutes later, while Lim finished what he started, drilling his fourth goal in the 74th minute.
Besides Lim, Kim, and Leon, MP United listed 21 other players on its boys U15 player. Also on the lineup are Julian Pellegrino, Grant Eichen Berger, Jordan Butcher, Ba Da Lee, Kennedy Izuka, Amir Abes, Kevin Park, David Yang, Diego Masga, Alex Park, Jason Kim, Clayton Izuka, Joshua Abragan, Steven Martin, Sun Joon Tenorio, Wataru Tajima, Timothy Park, Aaron Lee, Tae Young Moon, Christopher Aninzo, and Wesley Poiroux.
Paire has a 26-player roster: Saixian Bagsic, Jhn Abelinde, Moises Belza, Manuel Celis, James David, Keeanu Diaz, Joel Fruit, Allen and Billy Hinson, Moran Kim, Won Jun Kim, Sunje Lee, Evan Miller, Christian Oh, JC Piring, Noah Pohl, Ivan and Joe Seo, Fritz Trinidad, Timothy Villanueva, Cole Chambers, Spencer Dickenson, Anthony Fruit, Kwan Kim, Logan Mister, and Dai Podziewski.
Meanwhile in last Saturday’s U18 game, MP United also cruised past Paire, 6-2.
Jehn Joyner and Tanapon Unsa nailed two goals apiece for MP United, while Jireh Yobech and Brian Lee contributed one each.
Thomas Lee and Oh had one goal apiece for Paire, which faced a 0-3 deficit at the break.
MP United took a promising 3-0 halftime advantage, as Yobech opened the team’s scoring in the seventh minute and Unsa and Joyner found the back of the net in the ninth and 10th minute, respectively. Thomas Lee then put Paire in the board in the 51st minute, while Oh also scored in the 76th minute to keep their team afloat. However, MP retaliated with three goals in a span of 10 minutes with Joyner, Unsa, and Brian Lee scoring.
Only the U18 match was played last Saturday, as the two girls U15 games over at the Hopwood Junior High School Field were rained-out.
