A four-door sedan parked for sale in front of the Kristo Rai Church in Garapan was stolen by an unidentified person or persons between Monday night and Tuesday morning.
Romel Codog, 42, a cook at Victoria Hotel, told Saipan Tribune yesterday that his car was a white 2005 Ford Focus with license plate ADT-241.
Codog said he immediately reported the matter to the Department of Public Safety and requested help from security officers and federal agents assigned at Horiguchi Building.
The cook said he left the car in the parking lot of Kristo Rai Church Monday between 7pm to 8pm and when he returned at 3:20pm the following day, the vehicle was already gone. He suspected that the car was towed as he still has the keys.
“Whoever stole my car, please return it to me. And if someone has information as to who stole it, please call the police,” said Codog. He has been trying to sell the car for $6,500 since January.
It was not the first time for Codog to fall victim to car thieves on Saipan.
In 2007, his blue 1988 Toyota Hilux pickup truck was stolen while it was parked at his apartment in front of Sasco Auto Shop on Middle Road, Garapan. He reported the matter to the police, but it was never recovered.
