Lino M. Olopai will be the featured guest on this Sunday’s “Your Humanities Half-Hour” radio program.
Olopai, born on Saipan in 1940, will recount his recollection of post-war life in Chalan Kanoa Village, including childhood games, communal living, and village meetings in the Carolinian portion of the village.
This is the first of four radio programs in October focusing on village histories. The other villages to be featured in upcoming shows this month include Garapan, Tanapag, and San Roque.
This series is one of several programs sponsored by the Northern Marianas Humanities Council in October to mark CNMI Humanities Month.
Your Humanities Half-Hour, hosted by Catherine R. Perry, airs each Sunday afternoon from 2:00 to 2:30 on Power 99.
It features interviews with scholars, researchers, teachers, and community leaders on a wide range of humanities topics of interest to the community. (NMI Humanities Council)
