Marianas Golf Association (MGA) held its September Ace of the Month Tournament late last month at the Coral Ocean Point Golf Resort with Harry Nakamura topping the competition.
The September Ace of the Month went to Nakamura after he shot a 38 on the front nine and 41 on the back for a 79 gross score. With a handicap of 16, Nakamura ended up with a net score of 63 and a 10-shot win over Geri Dela Cruz.
Dela Cruz carded a 49 in the first nine holes and a 50 in the last for a gross 99. With a handicap of 26, Dela Cruz came up with a net 73 to settle for runner-up honors. Rounding out the Top 3 was Ned Norita, who fired a 41 on the front nine and a 43 on the back for a gross score of 84. With a handicap of 8, Norita netted a score of 76.
Besides the September Ace of the Month contest, MGA also held closest to the pin competitions.
Jack Salas won the closest to the pin contest on hole No. 3, Carl Hocog prevailed on holes No. 7 and 12, and Marco Peter topped hole No. 14.
Meanwhile, the club’s October Ace of the Month is scheduled this Sunday at the Kingfisher Golf Links. Showtime for this tournament is 9am, while tee off is at 10am. Greens fee is $30.
