October has been proclaimed as “Energy Action Month.” In line with this, the CNMI Energy Division will be hosting several energy efficiency and conservation awareness events throughout the month to promote awareness and educate the community about the importance of energy efficiency and conservation throughout the CNMI.
-Conservation Week: CFL and ECO Bag Distribution: Oct. 15 to Oct. 18, from 9am to 4pm (closed from 11:30am to 12:30pm), at House No. 1337, located on Ascencion Drive on Capital Hill
-Awareness and Education Open House: Energy Savings Kit Distribution, from Oct. 23 to Oct. 25, from 9am to 4pm (closed from 11:30am to 12:30pm), at House No. 1337, located on Ascencion Drive on Capital Hill
-Recycling Week: Recycling Bin Distribution, from Oct. 28 to Oct. 30, from 9am to 4pm (closed from 11:30am to 12:30pm), at the EECBG Office, Spring Plaza, Chalan Pale Arnold Rd. (Middle Road), Gualo Rai.
All weekly promotions are available to all residential paying customers of the Commonwealth Utilities Corp., on a first-come, first-serve basis, and customers must provide a copy of their most current CUC utility bill and a valid ID to receive the free items.
Acting Energy director Vincent S. Attao encourages everyone to be a part of the solution in protecting the environment through recycling efforts and energy conservation. By simply replacing at least one incandescent bulb with a qualified energy-efficient Energy Star CFL, we can all make a difference.
