Jesus M. Elameto will be the featured guest on this Sunday’s “Your Humanities Half-Hour” radio program.
Elameto will talk about life in San Jose/Oleai Village in the 1950s and 60s. He will touch on the role of the village commissioner, providing for the family, school days, and more.
This is the second installment of a four-part series focusing on village histories in celebration of CNMI Humanities Month. Two additional villages, Garapan and San Roque, will be featured in upcoming shows in October.
Your Humanities Half-Hour, sponsored by the Northern Marianas Humanities Council and hosted by Catherine R. Perry, airs each Sunday afternoon from 2pm to 2:30pm on Power 99.
The show features interviews with scholars, researchers, teachers, and community members on a wide range of humanities topics. (NMI Humanities Council)
