The 25th Anniversary of the Club 200 “Salute to Service” promises to be extra memorable for partygoers.
The “Show-off at the Dance-off” has been called the 2013 Saipan Dancing Championship by event coordinators Mili Saiki and Bob Coldeen, while the costume contest has been labeled the “Showdown at the Low-Down”.
The costume and dance contests are only part of the fun-fest coming up at the Fiesta Resort & Spa on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 6pm to 10pm, sponsored by the American Red Cross. They punctuate the party, providing a platform for pleasing performances, both for personal pride and prize.
Coldeen, rumored to be attending dressed like a sports reporter, was mum about pre-contest dance favorites, saying he preferred to talk about the prestige of winning, “It’s for a cause, baby. As a former dance champion myself, I know the feeling. Oh, what a feeling. Someone should make a song about that."
Dance judge Saiki was unavailable for comment. She reportedly has been studying dance videos for the past five days. Despite repeated calls for comment, she refused to dispel rumors that she will dominate the costume challenge by wearing an astronaut uniform. (PR)
