Five corporate health officers and directors of the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. recently completed a “Leadership and Management Training” course facilitated by the CNMI Area Health Education Center through the Northern Marianas College’s Community Development Institute.
The five training participants were the second group from CHCC to complete the two-day training course, which was designed to sharpen the skills of those in management to help them better understand and better communicate with the people they work with and supervise.
This course is designed to help both new and more experienced managers learn new tips and hone their skills. Topics that were covered include the different types of communication strategies, dealing with issues in the workplace, and maintaining work motivation and momentum. The course was taught by NMC Business Department chairperson and instructor Chavel Green.
At the end of the training, the five CHCC corporate health officers and directors received certificates of completion from NMC’s Community Development Institute. The five training participants serve at CHCC’s facilities on Saipan, Tinian and Rota.
“We know that effective leadership in health care can improve the quality of services being offered, as well as the overall healthcare experience,” said acting director Floyd Masga. “That is why we are glad to support CHCC’s officers and directors who serve our islands by facilitating this leadership training.”
