With Mother Nature’s cooperation, the 2013 NMIFA Youth Fall League completed the two games scheduled last Friday at the Oleai Sports Complex Field with Tan Holdings FC and MP United FC dominating separate opponents.
MP United FC gained a 4-0 victory over Paire in the first game in the boys U15 division, which either called off its games or played only one for the past several weeks due to the bad weather. Daniel Lim led the shutout victory, scoring a pair of goals, while Sun Joon Tenorio and Aaron Lee chipped in one apiece.
Tenorio broke the ice for MP United, making a goal in the 15th minute while Lim got his first two minutes later. Aaron Lee nailed his goal 10 minutes in second half, while Lim closed out the scoring for MP United with his goal in the 59th.
In the second game, Tan Holdings FC clobbered Shirley’s FC, 6-1.
Christian Ruiz logged two goals for Tan Holdings FC, which got the other goals from four different players. James Roger Garcia drew first blood for Tan Holdings FC, while Jun Kim also scored in the first half, which ended with the eventual winning club ahead, 3-0, as Ruiz nailed the last goal for his team in the opening frame.
Ryan Relucio made it a 4-0 advantage early in the second half, while Ruiz earned his second goal midway, and Mareko Tekopua completed Tan Holdings FC demolition of Shirley’s FC after finding the back of the net in the closing minutes. Shirley’s FC avoided a shutout when Carmelino Garcia scored in the 75th.
Meanwhile, Tan Holdings played a make-up game against Matansa FC last Saturday at the Hopwood Junior High School Field and also prevailed, 2-1.
Both teams were scoreless in the first half before Tan Holdings drilled back-to-back goals in a span of two minutes, courtesy of Ryan Relucio and Kim, who scored in the 61st and 63rd minute. James Ermitanio hit the lone goal for Matansa in the 76th.
Tan Holdings was victorious, too, in the boys U18 match last Saturday at the Oleai pitch after whipping Paire, 9-2.
Sean Perez was unstoppable for Tan Holdings, as he earned six goals. Dale Ballesteros contributed two, while Yoshia Mafnas hit one.
Two more matches were set in last Saturday’s NMIFA youth league, but results in the girls U15 division games were unavailable at press time.
